There is something very real about her. She’s endearing, with a child-like laugh that reverberates away all the insecurities she just confided about herself. She’s celebrated as an actress with a fanciful enthusiasm for fashion, yet there is a simplicity and straight forwardness to her that charms much more than all the layers of taffeta and the 6-inch Louboutin shoes. Sonam Kapoor is one of the few actors who isn’t afraid of speaking her mind and finds herself discussing relevant issues with body image and unhealthy obsession with beauty.
Sonam Kapoor at a recent interview at the Vogue BFF hosted by Kamal Sidhu spoke openly about the vegan dietary influence on her health and her well-being, having previously been in and out of hospitals with poor health. She has embraced the idea of clean eating for a healthy, fit body and advocates a vegan lifestyle to boost health and shed weight.
It was interesting to note that her mornings are a full plate of avocadoes, tomatoes, hummus and pita bread – which she binges on everyday. With a flair for cooking, she follows a few food bloggers online to learn some new, interesting recipes. She does occasionally cheat with chocolates and ice-creams and guess what? They’re vegan too!
Atul Kasbekar, the other guest on the show (her Vogue BFF), describes Sonam Kapoor as a happy, full of life, positive person who carries her ‘devil may care’ attitude with élan.
We also loved the fact that apart from being a vegan, Sonam Kapoor didn’t approve of wasting paper on the show when they were asked to play Pictionary, how many actresses do you know who would do that?
